Helpful Info on Locations of - Nkorho, Elephant Plains and Djuma
Hi every one,
I would like to share some info that I have managed to gather and learn about over time in viewing the different cams.
Hopefully this info will be able to help us in keeping track of the cats we see or hear of at all these cams as well.
Hope this one map will give you a more detailed idea also, of where the different Lodges are in the Sabi Sands Area.
I think where quite a bit of the confusion of how close Djuma and Nkorho is, is because "The Bush Lodge" that belongs to Djuma Reserve is in their Southeastern Boundary area. (ALSO... there is a part of Djuma located "below" Nkorho that I have heard is not really traveled on.)
The Bush Lodge is located according to this map southwest of Nkorho.
This specific map is located on the Djuma Site, link is below.
http://www.djuma.co.za/map_2.php
***Special notes/info to share, that I have learned over time....
***Nkorho is said to be located Southeast of Vuyatela Lodge which is where the "Vuyatela/Gowrie Dam Cam" is located.
***Elephant Plains is shown to be located West and a little South of Nkorho on this map. And also shown to be Southwest from Vuyatela Lodge.
WildEarth, that hosts the Game Drives has their Camp located very near the Vuyatela Lodge.
Due to the Feed Output Signal Limits at this time of the traversing area for the game drives, WE(Wildearth) is not able to go to the Bush Lodge area of Djuma, nor all the way northwest of Djuma to the Galago Camp. So the different things that are viewed during the drives are not located any where "very close" to Nkorho or Elephant Plains areas unfortunately.
To share an even better break down of the Nkorho Area and the traversing area of the Game Drives(this map only for the purpose for better understanding of what you may read or see on videos), I will be glad to share 2 more very detailed Maps. BUT... if you would like to save these 2 Maps, I ask you to save them to your own computers, because they are hosted on my personal server. And if there are
numerous people trying to just save the link and view them from my site, it will take from My Own Personal Bandwidth Limits. (Thanks for helping me out with that request)
***These detailed maps were shared from Djuma, with permission to share with others***
Detailed Map of Nkorho Area...
CAN BE FOUND HERE
***Kruger National Park is to the far right or East on map.
Above Nkorho past the thicker border line is another part of Djuma "and other lodges in the Sabi Sands Area".
***I am not familiar with the extension of the traversing area for Rangers from Nkorho, so am not able to share those specific areas right now with you. Hopefully I can find that out from the lodge and will share more later if I possibly can.

Detailed Map of WildEarth's Traversing Area...
(Again only for better reference of what you may read or see on videos, as Djuma and Nkorho are in no way affiliated and as far as Lodges are concerned, are in competition with each other)
CAN BE FOUND HERE
***The drive signal limits at this time are - to the East at Cheetah Cutline, to the South at Gowrie Main/MMM Junction, to the West at again Gowrie Main/MMM Junction and to the North at Gowrie/Buffelshoek Cutline.
I hope all of this is helpful in sharing a more broken down detail of what we are able to see, share and hear about as we all enjoy SA together.
